Luxembourg weather main characteristics are the ones of the Western European Climatic region, which is humidity and low temperatures.  Luxembourg weather is normally fairly mild without extremes.  The sea which is 200 miles distant does not have a major impact on the weather.  The air of Luxembourg weather is considered to be beneficial for the people living there, as it is clean. 

Luxemburg winters are not extremely cold, although it usually snows during the winter time and the average temperature is 0° C. Luxembourg weather is warm from May to September.  The summers are mostly cool, with the warmest months being July and August, when the temperature may reach 24° C. Excessive heat is a rare phenomenon, even during the daytime in the summer, and thus, the temperatures drop at night.  During summer it is usually rainy and the weather is quite humid throughout the year. 

The weather in the north part of Luxembourg is colder and rainier than the south.  Furthermore, the north region is affected by the Atlantic systems, which cause unstable weather conditions.  In the north part, the high peaks of the Ardennes protect Luxembourg from the strong north winds.   The southwest is considered as the rainiest part of the country where rainfall may reach 1,2000 mm per year.
