Luxembourg Climate

Luxembourg experiences a mild climate, characterised by abundant precipitation and the slightly cooler and more humid conditions its northern regions enjoy, in comparison to the country’s south areas. In January the city of Luxemburg experiences average temperatures of around 33° F (0.7° C) that soar to 63° F (17° C) in July. Meanwhile, the region of Oesling experiences slightly lower temperatures but more precipitation than the Bon Pays. The southwest region is Luxemburg’s wettest area with around 40 inches (1,000 millimetres) and the southeast its driest with a meagre about 27 inches. Conditions in the sheltered valley of the Moselle River are significantly gentler and sunnier to those the rest of the duchy experiences.
